We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team.  The Controller will actively participate in and oversee all financial operations of our fast-paced Managed IT Services company.  

This is a hands-on role requiring participation in all areas of accounting and finance: A/R, A/P, payroll, journal entries, financial reporting/analysis, invoicing, billings, statements reconciliation, sales tax, collections, expenses, implementing cost control measures to enhance profitability, executive support, and more.

This role is best suited for an experienced Controller who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day financial operations, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and thrives in a dynamic, growing organization.  Prior experience in the Managed IT Services industry is highly beneficial.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Perform day to day, hands on financial operations including but not limited to: general accounting, A/R, A/P, payroll, financial reporting, collections, expenses, invoicing and billings
• Supervise and support accounting personnel
• Reconcile vendor invoices
• Prepare financial statements and work with outside CPA firm
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and credit card reconciliations and financial analysis
• Assist in ongoing analysis and reporting of financial and operational results
• Prepare tax-related documentation and monthly sales tax filings
• Improve and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Financial administration, planning and budgeting
• Identify areas of cost control, revenue, and margin generation to help improve bottom line performance
• Develop and communicate key business performance metrics to management
• Various ongoing and special ad-hoc operational and accounting/finance projects
• Assist with creation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets
• Manage and actively participate in recurring client billing, revenue recognition, and financial reconciliation related to managed services agreements

Controller Requirements:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years proven work experience as Controller or Finance Manager. 
• 2+ years experience in Technology Services/MSP industry desired.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and QuickBooks desktop and online. Must be able to quickly learn and use new software applications and databases, such as ConnectWise.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; team player with a positive, can-do approach.
• Ability to direct, supervise, and train accounting staff.
• Self-starter and focused, high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness and ability to actively perform daily responsibilities in addition to overseeing financial operations.  
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare meaningful financial reports and statements.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, employees, and executive leadership.
